cool—spicy:

A new student, I guess. ”Hello there.” she smiled, trying to be friendly.

Oh,” she generally wasn’t used to people approaching her. “Hello…” she paused briefly seeing she wore the same uniform. “While you’re standing there you could tell me where I’m supposed to going, I’m new here.

“Oh, l-look! Hi, I’m R-Rin!”

What are you stuttering for?” She mumbled slightly, “Well Rin I’m Izumo.

“Oh, s-sorry…I’m shy today for some r-reason,” She said quietly. “N-nice to meet you Izumo-chan…”

Why are you apologising? I just asked,” her explanation didn’t make much sense either. “Likewise, any way I just transferred to Spica but they didn’t explain much, care to tell me where I’m supposed to go?

// Just to let you know I have NO IDEA what I’m doing, I’ve only joined multi-fandom groups before and things seem to work a lot different to what I’m used to so forgive me if I don’t make sense. //

NO LONGER APART OF ZODIAKOS!

So feel free to unfollow Izumo unless you think we might role play, I still have Aeris, Garnet and Aqua at ZOD though.

I really respect that part of him.

notreiko:

A sudden voice had stopped him in his tracks. It wasn’t so much the intensity of it rather than what the girl—it was a girl, he realized, as he turned to look—had said that startled him.

Kappa… in text books? Sure, maybe in those that specialized in Japanese mythological creatures, but he was pretty sure topics like that weren’t included in a regular school’s curriculum. Then again, he wasn’t too certain of what exactly constituted a regular school’s curriculum, as he only had his own countryside education to base off of.

“You saw that?” He shifted slightly, but made no move to approach the girl. “The kappa?”

She was most definitely human, he thought to himself. But she could see youkai, too. Like him. He figured it wasn’t so surprising anymore. In the past few days, Natsume had learned that a good number of the odd bunch brought to this world could see them with no difficulty at all.

He often wondered if their lives had been anything like his.

A drop of sweat made its way down his face, traveling down a pale cheek and soft jawline, before the boy reached up to wipe it away with the collar of his shirt. Natsume’s lips twisted into a frown. The glare of the sun was beginning to grow more and more uncomfortable with each passing minute. Time to get into the shade.

Ducking underneath a tall tree, he idly wondered what Nyanko-sensei was up to in this heat. Hopefully not drinking again. Natsume didn’t want the hut to smell of booze when he got back.

Wiping a hand across his forehead and trying to rid himself of the faint buzzing in his head, Natsume looked to the girl. “Aren’t you… aren’t you feeling warm, too?”

Well Izumo didn’t exactly attend a school that had a regular curriculum. Sure on the outside it did but the cram school certainly didn’t not that she expected anyone here to know such a thing. Keeping up with both studies was a pain sometimes but she liked to think her knowledge on spirits and demons was pretty good.

“Of course I did” she replied as if it was the most normal thing someone could see. Yeah she sometimes liked to think she was just a normal kid but then she’d see coal tar floating around and be reminded she just wasn’t and could never be. “It’s not that unusual to see, I was just a little curious that you could” she continued, she knew there were all sorts of people here and meeting others that could see spirits and the like probably wasn’t that surprising. “I don’t usually trust demons so quickly though,” she said referring to his treatment of the kappa. “I take it that sort of thing is normal for you?” She inquired, her tone a little flat but hinted that she was interested to know.

The only demons she somewhat trusted were her own Uke and Mike, Shiemi’s greenman spirit and obviously Rin, he was a special case for obvious reasons. Even the harmless ones could trick you, but she just wasn’t trusting by nature.

She watched carefully as he moved to the shade obviously he didn’t do well in heat. It didn’t really bother her much, it’d be nice if she actually had a change of clothes other than her school uniform though, but without the sweater on it wasn’t so bad.

“Not especially, I was just on my way to Hevia to cool off by the lake” she replied “maybe you should do the same thing? You look terrible,” she hadn’t meant it to be an insult really but it might have sounded that way with the way she spoke.

notreiko:

Now wasn’t this remarkably nostalgic?

Natsume sighed, shading his eyes from the blistering heat of the sun as he poured a bottle of mineral water down onto the head of a sweltering kappa, dizzy of heatstroke.

The boy had been walking back to his hut after a short trip to Polis when he’d passed by the water demon sitting on the ashen road, looking as if any moment it would pass out. He’d contemplated the thought of just walking onward, before quickly dismissing it. The kappa reminded him of the one he’d helped out once upon a time, back when he’d still been in their small countryside town on Earth. He didn’t have the heart to ignore the poor thing.

Nyanko-sensei had not accompanied him on his little shopping trip, much preferring to wander about by himself. Still, Natsume had no doubt he’d turn up sooner or later in the course of the day. He was his bodyguard, after all. He had to protect the Book of Friends from other youkai who wished to steal it—if there were any in this world that did. The Book of Friends didn’t seem to be of much value here, it seemed.

“You should be more careful next time,” he admonished gently, screwing the cap of the bottle closed and tucking it inside his bag. “It isn’t good to stay out here when it’s so hot. What if I hadn’t seen you?”

The kappa gave him a grateful look, before bowing. “Thank you, Natsume-sama! I’ll be more careful next time, I promise!”

Natsume sighed again as he watched it scamper away into the recesses of Gilneas forest. Standing up from his squatting position, he dusted the dirt off his knees and hitched the strap of his messenger bag higher over his shoulder.

It really is hot today, he thought to himself, lifting a hand to wipe away the sweat on his forehead. Seeing as he was rather susceptible to heat, it would be best to stay out of the sun and get home as quickly as possible.

Nodding to himself, he made to turn around and resume his walk home—before he caught sight of a figure watching from afar. Natsume bit back a yelp of surprise. He was sure he was alone just a minute ago!

Willing himself to calm down, the boy clenched his fist and continued on his way, determined to act as if the earlier incident had never happened. Normal people don’t see kappa, after all—or just youkai in general. To the stranger, it should have looked as if Natsume was emptying his bottle of water on the ground for no apparent reason… and talking to himself. How embarrassing was that?  Natsume held back a groan. They probably thought he was a weirdo now.

Izumo was rather enjoying the hot weather, it beat cold weather any way. On such a nice day it seemed to be a waste to stay inside, plus she was getting incredibly sick of being cooped up in those little huts. She hadn’t seen many of her classmates recently either, it was like they’d dropped off the face of the earth…they might have, literally. Rolling her sleeves up she’d briefly entered Gilneas Forest but hadn’t ventured too far in, she intended to go to the lake to soak her feet in, hopefully no monsters would ruin the trip.

She would have made it there in good time too, except something caught her eye. There was some kid she only briefly caught him talking to, well she had to squint. Though she’d never come across one herself that looked like a kappa, what was he doing? Izumo didn’t trust any demons friendly or not, except for her own and even then they’d turn on her if she lost composure. She only raised an eyebrow, not realising she’d been staring, only until he looked her way then she did she blink.

She gave him a displeased look as he yelped, obviously he hadn’t noticed her then just went on his way. She’d found that weirder than him talking to a demon, demons were a regular part of her life after all. Still she was kind of curious to know how he could see demons or spirits.

“Hey!” She called out sharply. “That was a kappa just now wasn’t it? I’ve never seen one before, only in text books” she asked to confirm what she thought she saw. Usually she would have just walked off herself but really things were so boring around here, seeing a demon was somewhat more interesting.
